Extractive gas analysers require sample gas which is dry, dust free, at the correct pressure and flow rate. Correct conditioning of the sample gas will ensure accurate measurement and reduce maintenance requirements and cost.
Nafion is a Dupont co-polymer that is highly selective in the removal of water. The water moves through the membrane wall and evaporates into the surrounding air or gas in a process called perevaporation. This process is driven by the humidity gradient between the inside and the outside of the tubing.
Water is removed as a vapor, so water solube compounds, such as the acid gases, are not removed from the sample gas. This makes Perma Pure sample conditioning systems the choice for applications such as monitoring the emissions from large combustion proccesses.
| ACES | Sample conditioning system for gas analysers using electrochemical cells (ECS) for flow rates <1.5 l/min
ACES systems reduce sample humidity to the ideal range for ECS (typically 30-70%RH), whilst also removing any dust or dirt particles present. Incorporating a Perma Pure Nafion membrane dryer, disposable 0.1 micron pre-filter and integral sample pump the ACES systems offer good corrosion resistance to sample components and very high selectivity so water soluble gases are not lost. The RH of 50 to 70% of the sample gas extends the life of electrochemical cells by ensuring the electrolyte is not dehydrated prematurely.

| Micro-GASS |
Conditioning of gas samples for analysis by
electro-chemical sensor (ECS) analysers when the sample is hot and
wet Operating as a self-contained unit, the Micro-GASS incorporates a built-in sample pump to draw the sample gas through a cooler, an 0.1um filter to remove liquid water and a Nafion gas dryer to remove water vapour. The dried sample then flows to the sensor where the measurement is made. After exhausting from the ECS, the gas passes through a needle valve and expands, causing a reduction in vapour pressure. It then re-enters the dryer to be used as a purge gas. The Micro-GASS a self-regenerating and transportable conditioning system, requiring only electrical power. Flow rate 1.5 l/min.

| Mini-GASS |
High performance gas drying system for flow rates
<10 l/min The Mini-GASS sample conditioning systems prepares hot, dirty, wet, gas sample streams for high flow, high performance gas analysis applications. The Mini-GASS system will remove particulates, mists and water vapour from a gas stream without the loss of analyte gasses. Options of safety interlocks (to prevent water entering the analysers), electrical or steam heating (for use with flammable gases) and a choice of materials for optimum corrosion resistance.

| GASS-II |
For CEMS and Process gas monitoring applications
with high levels of contamination for flow rates <25 l/min
The high specification GASS-II Systems combines Nafion dryers with a particulate/coalescing filter and all necessary controls to provide a complete gas sample conditioning system to remove high levels of dust, acid mists and liquid and vapour water. The GASS-II systems can process sample streams with flow rates of up to 25 l/min and water levels of up to 75%. Even at these high water levels, a properly configured system will reduce the water content to a dew point -25 degC without loss of analyte gases.
